Chomolungma is the Tibetan name for Mount Everest and means
"Goddess mother of the world"

It is not easy to organize climbing expeditions to high mountains on other continents without paying to much money or spending to much time for preparations.
This makes it almost impossible for many climbers to take part of this kind of expeditions.
Universal Summit is organizing the "Dutch Chomolungma Expedition 2004" from August 13th. Until Octobre 15th.

It would be the first time that a Dutch team would reach the top of this mountain in autumn from the northside. It is a non-profit expedition with low cost, but with a high standard of quality and safety. Oxygen will be used for reaching the top on 8.850 meters. Climbingsherpa's will help building all camps.

Climbing from the northside is a little bit more difficult then from the southside. It is more windy and there are some difficult parts, expecially above 8300 meter. It is also a long way from basecamp on 5.200 meter to advanced basecamp on 6.400 meter. Staying several weeks on this altitude and higher camps makes it hard enough. The higher camps are on 7.000, 7.500, 7.800 and 8.300 meters.
